Imagine if Fromsoftware created a half-baked Souls game. The fans would still buy it because Madden 21 coins it’s nevertheless a Souls match. Makes sense if you think of it that way. I mean, I just played New Super Mario Bros 2. It is like three hours and nothing about it is distinctive from all of the other New Super Mario Bros. games. Yet, I purchased it, and so didn’t millions of different players.
Maximum Football 2020 releases after this month. It honestly compares to overdue Xbox/early 360 graphically but it actually has depth and customization unlike Madden. Honstely when your only real game in town it is not like anybody has a choice just I’m just glad madden didn’t have to stick around and see his title butchered. Unfortunately Madden & FIFA are matches which are review-immune due to combination of exclusive licensing / casual market reach.
I get the feeling Avengers will also fall into this category. The NFL & FIFA respectively don’t take enough flak with this. They have to see that their audience is not happy but don’t switch to non-exclusive licensing anyhow. Past year’s I stopped playing per month in I had the EA ace left until yesterday I did not reup. I didnt enjoy 20 or 21.
It is a logical decision by EA. Even if they’re just after political factors. The NFL and Madden have a sizable African American fandom, along with being essentially a US exclusive merchandise with minimal global appeal. Not the best time to fall info when one of the biggest demographics & only market is on literal fire. From an advertising/marketing point, theyve done this numerous times (smaller scale) to get Battlefront 2. The CM said theyre looking to create the maximum spalsh as you can. If people are out protesting = less viewers. And more importantly, lower online engagement. On most social websites it’s impossible to talk about anything but the protests right now. They need people talking about the reveal but that could be spelled out by the much larger news right now.
Yeah, but they might have just as easily said”due to increasing tensions” or even delayed without saying anything. Selecting a side of this fence means probably devoting a few investors, board members, partners and customers. Consumers see EA for some of the dumb shit they do with games they develop and release, but they don’t see what they do for triggers such as equality and office diversity (they have actually been awarded in multiple years). They are actually super progressive internally and must be commended on that. It is simple to be cynical about this kind of thing, but they could just have easily avoided making a statement.
